NIKE TOTAL TENNIS CAMPS
NIKE TENNIS + ENGLISH CAMPS
For 10 – 17 year old boys and girls 6 or 13 nights
Players spend half the day on court and the other half learning English.
NOT SURE WHICH TO CHOOSE?
Residential hockey camps for 11 – 17 year olds at Charterhouse School. For boys and girls.
The Nike Total Tennis Camp programme is most suited to players who are used to playing a lot of sport. We have different camp venues for different playing levels but across all the camps, players need to be quite fit to get the most out of the Total Tennis programme. We constantly monitor the welfare and energy levels of the kids, however the schedule is intensive with around 6 hours of training each day. Players do not need to be fluent in English to take the Total Tennis programme. Our coaches are experienced in coaching players who have lower levels of English, and you will find players improve their English on this programme too because all the camp’s activities are delivered in English.
Taking English alongside tennis can be a great option for players who have English as a second language, and those looking for a less intensive tennis experience. Splitting the day between tennis and English lessons, our professional teachers make lessons fun, interactive and challenging for students of every level. Lessons revolve around the subjects of sport and tennis, engaging the class in a topic they are passionate about.

COACHING
Radley College offers advanced players a fun but challenging training programme simulating an elite tennis environment. Developing players at Bradfield College improve their game with demonstration, practice and feedback. Players are assessed and grouped by ability on the first day so coaches can customise the training programme to maximise individual skills progression.
Advanced players are challenged technically, tactically and physically. Developing players learn to master grip, spin, shot selection and movement. The experienced coaching team includes former tournament professionals who use challenges and short-set matches alongside fitness and conditioning drills to create a fun, competitive and progression-driven camp.
Workshops on fitness, nutrition and hydration, physiology and psychology and match tactics and match preparation support on-court training.

COACHING
Radley College offers advanced and elite players a fun but challenging training programme while Bradfield College offers a supportive environment for developing players.
Our coaches are experienced in instructing players with different language capabilities with energy and enthusiasm. Working on every aspect of the game in up to 17 hours of tennis coaching each week coaches use demonstration, practice and feedback to get the best out of players in every session. Grouped by ability and working on a 1:6 coaching ratio sessions focus on skills such as spin, shot selection, power and agility, challenging players at every level.
Supporting the on-court training is a series of workshops designed to develop players’ psychology and all-round athleticism.
ENGLISH
Our carefully designed English syllabus is based on the CLIL approach used in prestigious schools worldwide. Students are grouped into the appropriate class for their age and level based on a pre-camp online test and a verbal assessment on day one. At camp, they are immersed in an English-speaking environment 24/7 with teachers staying on-site. As well as general English, we use sports-related English topics in class to engage students in fun and interactive lessons. A combination of traditional classroom techniques, active participation and project work gives students the tools they need to communicate effectively during their coaching sessions and in the wider world.
RESULTS
Players build confidence and ability. They leave equipped with the skills and insight to continue their development as a tennis player and English speaker long after the camp has finished. Each player receives a coaching review and a certificate to take home as well as an English report from their teacher and advice on how to continue improving their English at home. Their progress on-court is accompanied by making new friends from around the world and developing maturity, confidence and an understanding of new cultures.
